It’s been a while I know but what can I say I have been busy working on various items for the Four Walls Hunt which ended on December 15th, also for my store and not to mention for this amazing round of The Garden run by The Liaison Collaborative. Not to mention I am
trying struggling with learning newer software and coping with a temperamental computer.
Anyway let’s dive right into this review, and I gotta admit I am quite excited about this one.
I love skins and trying on various skins, for those who know what I do in SL I used to create skins back in the day but that is now history as the skin business in SL is one that requires a lot of focus, dedication, attention to detail and patience. Therefore whenever I see a really good skin in SL I cant help but applaud the creator for his/her work.
Several months ago I reviewed Sacred Skin’s Tyler which has and will be one of my personal favourite skins in SL and on Sunday Hermanni Laville finally released his skin (now added to one of my personal faves), Leon (which I have been waiting on since March 9th 2013 and was delayed due to various alterations and corrections), and like I’ve mentioned earlier skins in SL require a lot of patience especially when you want to create something for a wide audience. So was this skin worth the wait? Definitely. So now onto the review…

Hermony’s Leon skin comes in 6 tones and there are a lot of add-ons to choose from, such as:-
-brow cuts (three versions)
-chest hair (6 versions),
-4 eyebrow shapes
-an alpha layer for lashes
-24 facial hair options
-bald and crew cut versions of the skin
The skin is exotically handsome with a lot of realism that is quite difficult to achieve on the regular avatar such as the curvature of the lips and natural looking mouth corners. There are some puffy details under the eyes and around them Hermanni added just the right amount of shading that adds some character to the face.
Inside the mouth the skin has some interesting bits of detail such as at the roof of the mouth and the added uvula (which is tough to add when doing skins). There are no cheek bone details which is refreshing as a lot of male skins focus on a more chiseled look while Leon looks softer and also younger.
The shoulder-blades are well done, and there are some vein detail on the lower inner arms they are very subtle which I think is good for those of us who don’t like veiny arms. The chest is simply beautiful and nipples are perfect and not pixelated, there’s even some areola definition to the nipples. The abdominals are soft and athletic looking and the V-line (or cum-gutters) and belly button are perfect. Hermanni if you’re reading this I have no idea how you did it, but this is the first time I’ve ever stared at my avatar’s abs and drool.
The back for some freckly detail and the butt is quite nice.
The legs are well made without any visible seams.
Overall the skin’s got some beautiful highlights and shading and the transition are perfect in a lot of places.
The skin however has a more desaturated/nutty shade which I personally like; however if you are used to and love richer colours in avatar skins such as fleshy pinks and sun-kissed tans then you may not be keen on the shades available, but I believe once you purchase this skin you may become used to the tone after wearing it for a couple of days. You can also rectify this if you have a skin tint/colourise tattoo layer.
At the moment there are no slink appliers; however as I understand the creator is working on SLink appliers which will be a bonus as colour matching (especially for guys) can be quite difficult.
Leon is available at Hermony’s Skin Shop for L$1,100 and considering what you get is quite affordable.
So check it out, and also don’t forget to demo before buying.#
Have a great day <3
